Propaganda posters are works of art, despite their somewhat dark intentions. Here are some from the USSR. There are even more to be found in the World War II poster collection from Northwestern University library. Or how about some from the Spanish Civil war?

Love the propaganda links. I could look at those for hours.

Heard an interesting bit on NPR the other day about domestic tensions in Spain; tensions that have had a lid on them for decades are coming to the fore. There seems to be discussion in Catalonia about independence in some form.

An aside: I had to hunt for the comment link. Consider putting it beneath the entry; it seems to be standard practice with blogs.

Yeah, as far as I know there are still numerous unresolved disputes in Spain. But it seems the Spanish government is coping well, seeking dialogue rather than resorting to violence. It seems to work a lot better than sending in tanks.
